Hello all, 20 years have past, aprox 19 spent w/ my wife. 2 kids & 2 dogs. we stayed local and settled in Middlebury where I was born. Sounds boring but a busy fast growing company and 2 sports active kids we are always on the run. Kept touch w/ a few highschool buddies and nice to see others move back into town rescently. I look forward to seeing the “old” faces from our school days. Hope all is well and to see you soon!!

Howdy all. Where have these 20 years gone? After graduation it was off to the Navy for 4 years of hard work and adventure. I’ve visited many, many places during that time and the experience will forever be a part of who I am today. After getting out in 1991, I went to Central and then in 94 I started working for a major health insurer. I’ve been in the industry ever since. I have a wonderful wife and two beautiful daughters and now live in Prospect. I’m serving on the reunion committee to help ensure as many of you can attend as possible. This should be a great one! Kurt has done a great job with this website and I hope you will utilize it to send pictures, share stories and submit missing classmate information. Hoping for as close to 100% participation as possible.

It’s hard to believe 10 years has passed since our last reunion. Since the last time I saw most of you, Laurel and I added a son, making us the typical American family with two kids, two dogs, two cats and two cars. We never moved far from our families, which most times is a good thing, settling in Cheshire. I work in Hartford, in the insurance industry, which is like being in the mafia in that once you’re in, you’re in. We have some great plans for this long weekend and hope to see as many of you as possible at as many events as possible.

    To all my fellow classmates:
First of all, I am far from a prisoner! If anything, high school and college held me back.
I can’t believe you guys have that picture up (thanks Kurt). I do, however, remember that night.
Anyway, I am looking forward to the reunion and am planning on attending.

Thanks to all of you on the committee, I am so very PSYCHED! I can not wait. Reading all of our classmates names in your email was great. It reminded me how easy it is to forget people.

Anyway, I can not wait to see you all in September!!!!!!!
okay, the picture on the web site….. left to right… Micheal, Rachel and ??? who’s the prisoner?

Am I totally wrong? I wish I had some pictures to send you but I’ve got nothing from High School kicking around.

Here is one of my husband and I from our 2007 New Years party…….

Funny thing about my husband, he was actually dating one of our class mates just before he and I met. He was dateing Stacey Trainer. Go figure, small world.

Again, thanks for all the hard work and co~ordination….. see you in September!

    Hello All~

Bio for the last 20 years or since the last reunion:(since what’s already on this site really isn’t a bio, just chatter…)

Working in the liqour industry buying wine and booze… have been for 15 years, I love it.

Met my husband 4 years ago, we lived together, (in “sin”) for 2 before we got married… now we have a house with a fence and a dog in Wallingford, waiting for the 2 legged freeks (kids) to arrive, so we too can keep up with the Jones’.

NO in all seriousness….. life is good, Dave, glad you are not in prison, I was a bit shocked… Obviously I’m way too gullable.

Steve and Laurel congrads the newest addition.

    Ciao for now,
    Rebekah

Hello to PHS Class of 1987.
Sorry, I could not make the 10 year had to work. But did stop by for a few minutes. For the last 15 years I have been working in the Emergency Medical Service field. The last 10 years as a Paramedic for Campion’s in the greater Waterbury CT area. For the last six in Naugatuck CT as a fly car medic.
Two years ago I moved out of Southbury to a new development in Bristol. Last year I got married to my beautiful wife Jill. No kids yet, but we do have 2 dogs, a cat, and a Cockateil bird. Both of us love to travel. We have been all over the US, Carribean, Cabo San Lucas, Maui, and recently the South Pacific Islands if Tahiti, Bora Bora, & Moorea.
Through the years I have ran into classmates and teachers here and there, by work or travels.
In the last 20 years, life for me has been good or awesome. Hope to see everyone in September. :)
    Brian Burnes.

Hi everyone! I can’t believe it’s been 20 years already. I’ve had a great time getting together with everyone on the reunion committee and hope to see a huge turnout for the reunion.
I hate talking about myself, but Kurt (the tyrant!) has ordered us to post a blog. And he is doing a great job with the website, so I’ll listen to orders. I am presently a stay-at-home mom with two children; my husband and I have been happily married for almost 13 years and we now live in West Hartford–great town with great schools. Love it here.
When I’m not busy with our six- and three-year old kids, I try to devote a little time to a handbag company I started a few years ago, Marguerite handbags, online at www.margueritehandbags.com (shameless plug!).
Life is good. That’s it. See you ALL in September!

Hey everyone, Lets see… after highschool I lived in hamden for a year, applied to North Carolina School of the Arts spent a year there studying lighting and scene design for theatre, my teachers said I was waisting my time and I should concern myself with visual arts instead. So I did. I left NCSA for University of Hartford, Hartford Art School. I recieved my BFA in ceramics with an emphasis in sculpture and Art History, graduated suma…
Spent one year at Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville, preparing my self for Graduate school, from there to Alfred University in New York, from there Hartford Art School for a year…Then on to the health food industry… Natural Living Manager for Wild Oats, Regional Manager, gave that up when I was offered a job teaching at a Charter School in Hartford.Eventually we gained Magnet status. I would stay there for six years teaching fine arts and ceramics (K-8). In the mean time I got married (on the beach in Westerly RI, mid Oct. very pretty). Didn’t touch my own art work for six years, decided that if I was going to get my Masters I better do it. I retired from teaching, I did not want to become one of those teachers who after any given amount of time began to resent the choices made. I LOVED and RESPECTED those kids way too much! She cheated, got divorced, not so pretty. I went back to school and landed a residecy at Hartfoed Art School
after graduating I got an internship in Portland Oregon for six months focusing on conceptual sculpture(using Chaos Theory and Fractal Geometry). Fell apart…landed here in Michigan City with family…got better, now I am back and working on my masters, teaching… I breathe and live it everyday. To support myself I am back in the Health food world. I am the Buyer and Manager for a Health food store here. I am working on my work, and in my spare time I am finishing writing a book that I hope to have published by spring of 08. Thats me in a nutshell. I am sorry as I will not be able to attend the reunion due to a confrence in Baltimore!
    My very best-
    Aaron

Well what can I say I have been around. After spending most of my life growing up in Middlebury and going to Pomperaug HS for 3 years, I unfortunately had to move my senior year. At the time I moved to Western MA to finish High School at Hampshire High. It was hard at first but I soon made some great friends.

I attended University of MA, Amherst were I meet my wife Anne. We have moved up and down the East Coast over the years but in 1998 we settled in Groton, MA. We have two kids and a golden retriever. Kit is 7, Kyle is 5, and our dog Aberdeen is 10.

After graduating from college I took a job as General Manager at Holuihans in Washington DC. Upon exiting the restaurant business, I have held multiple titles in sales. Currently, I am working for Michael C. Fina (A global rewards & recognition solutions provider) as a sales consultant for the New England region.

As a family we lead a very active lifestyle. My wife is a kickboxing instructor. In April 08 I am going for my 2nd Degree Black belt in mixed martial arts. Kit likes Hip Hop dance. Kyle likes Gymnastics and Baseball. Aberdeen enjoys swimming and fetching balls.

Some of our favorite pastimes as a family have been going to Storyland in NH, Hitting the beach whenever possible and Skiing.

After twenty years and thanks to my best friends Tom and Chris I have been invited to attend PHS87 reunion. I am very much looking forward to meeting everyone again and catching up.

    Hi everyone,
I guess that you already know who “said” this. I won’t bother right now with where I went to school after PHS but from there I lived in NC on an island (who can wish for more?) and hung out with Ginger. After a while, reality struck that you can’t do this without working so I moved to Maryland (still on the water). I’ve been here for about 15 yrs. My husband Pat, and I have “my 3 sons”. Up until recently, I worked as an ortho tech and general medical assistant in a pediatric urgent care center (now that 2 of my sons are in school, I work in a regular Dr.s office during the day). By the way, when my second son was born, I had this woman as my “roomate” in the hospital who came to introduce herself, only to find myself saying “Kristy?” It was none other than Kristy Douglas. Yes, if you see this I now know that you’re Chris, with a “C”. Anyway, if she should not make it to this reunion, she is a guidance councelor in MD. I’ve since tried to reach her, but I think she may have gotten married. She said that Chris Del Negro also lived nearby but what I gather, he’s in CA now. I’ve been in touch with a few of us (you may be surprise who they are), but if you need some help, let me know. Otherwise, I look forward to seeing all of you.
    Best wishes if I don’t
    Meredith
P.S. If you read this, “guido” please, forgive me, it’s been bothering me for 10 yrs.

WOW where did the time go?

After finally passing High School English (Step One was to get out of PHS).
I spent almost five years in the US Air Force (spy-plane stuff) and subsequently I have completed an additional 12 more years in the Air National Guard (CT & DC) work as an Electronic Warfare Specialist. I have gotten some really great travel out of the tax payer (thanks) and I have also gone to some not so nice places (and very Hot). After my stint in the active Duty Air Force, I returned to Ct. and I went back to school while working for Hughes Danbury Optical developing a Plasma Planarization Process for Silicon (used for Chips). After approximately 5 years back in Ct. it was time to try something else, I headed to one of those places in “Rural Maryland” to work for National Semiconductor working on a special chips project. While, in Maryland I completed my Electrical Engineering degree at Johns Hopkins University. After nine years working on developing process for special application chips, I have moved into the Trusted Solutions Business Office. In the spring I will have completed my MBA at Loyola and will kick back and take it easy. That’s just the highlights, there is so much more in between (some of which I can actually still remember).
I have thus far managed to remain single (refusal to fall into the trap, thus far - but I have a great girl). I am still having fun and often have time to whop it up!
Unfortunately I will be unable to attend the 20 year reunion, the timing is just bad, but I wish everyone the best and maybe we could do it again in a few years.
    Best Wishes,
    -Ron

    Hi All

After PHS I went to Fairfield U along with other alum, Jen Holloway. We actually spent a summer in Spain together, great fun. Made great friends at school and often had none other than Shannon Hicks down for every party we had, and of course graduation, Billy Joel was our speaker. Did a “Thelma & Louise” trip, without any shootings, with a friend after graduating out to Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Nevada and California. Visited a college roommate from Ireland and I think I came home with alcohol poisoning!
I went on to do the public accounting/CPA thing, got my MBA from UHart and worked for one of those insurance companies for 10 years.
I have a sassy, smart and very independent five year old daughter (who is probably the equivalent of 3 kids packed into 1). My mother already has plans for her to play basketball at UConn. Speaking of, my mother still drives school bus, maybe even some of your kids! I have been married 12 years and live in my husband’s hometown in the “sticks” of Eastern Connecticut in the VERY rural town of Lebanon. The way Southbury was well before we were even born, we have 1 blinking light, that’s it, more cows, horses and chickens than people. What does one do there? Have animals as lawn ornaments of course. We have a dog, 2 cats, 2 llamas, an alpaca (they are different) and a bunch of chickens. Fresh eggs are the best, I actually have demand for them where I work so I sell them!
I currently work part-time for CATIC Exchange Solutions, Inc. in Rocky Hill doing financial related work - when you want to sell an investment property and defer taxes let me know, very technical stuff, but overall a good place to work.
My other “world” is doing Reiki, energy work and yoga. They are all great stress reducers. I volunteer at the local hospital in their pain management program and at a chiropractors’ office, and offer appointments on the side. It really helps balance my analytical “geek” side.
I haven’t seen too many of you over the years, but it is great to read your stories and brings back fond memories – you know who you are.
Thank you to the committee for getting this all together.
    See you in September!

    Carleen

I just got the note today about the reunion and am looking forward to see everyone!

I’ve settled in Wallingford with Chris Regan (yes, that Chris Regan) and live with our 3 boys and 2 dogs. Chris and I work together in the company he started. The company keeps us busy but the kids keep us busier!!

It’s great to read about everyone and where everyone has landed. 20 years since our days at PHS — 10 years since I’ve seen most of you. See you in a couple of months.

HELLO! Like everyone else has noted, holy &%( where does the time go?! After Highschool it was off to SCSU, where I found I hated college/school afterall. So moved on to the working world of the Mortgage Banking Industry. I moved on to NJ, where I spent 5 years, got married and had a wonderful son. Then it was off to the sunny skies of Denver, CO where I spent the last 10 years as a Mortgage Consultant. I now live in Eastern AZ in the White Mountains with my 13 year old son Aj and my wonderful husband of 5 years Clay, where we run our own branch for Liberty FInancial Group. I’m also a certifed Massage Therapist and do astrology.
Life certainly has been fun and fulfilling!!
I missed the 10 year, but I am not missing this one!

    See ya all there!

In the photo section, there seems to be a photograph of me being forced to drink something out of a pineapple by Jerry Crane wearing a helmet.

Apparently, this photograph needs a caption. How about: “Child Abuse.”

Twenty-some-odd years later, I am a college professor teaching in the philosophy department at Colby College in Maine. I received my Ph.D. from the University of Hawaii. My main area of research is classical Chinese philosophy. At Colby, I offer courses in American philosophy, Philosophy of Religion, Chinese thought, Metaphysics, and Buddhist philosophy. In other words, I am in the happy position of being paid to warp the minds of the next generation. (Summer’s off, of course).

After many weird and wonderful experiences since high school: living four months in a VW bus (twice), seven years in Hawaii, intermittent world travel, prolonged financial insecurity, a year in Kalamazoo, three years teaching in California’s wine country (hardship), writing books on arcane subjects, living in China… and whatever else, it is nice to finally be “settled down” with a stable job and family. I have a beautiful wife, Connie, and two darling children: Anna Pearl (3 yrs.) and Anton Zhu (15 months).

I suppose mine is the typical American/Chinese household: two kids, two cars, and one electric Rice Cooker.

I look forward to seeing you all again! Who’s making the beer run…?

    Hello all,

I just got done reading all of the replies so far. I am quite impressed with some of the things our classmates have been up to over the years. My husband, Gary, and I have been married for 14 years. We live in Northern NJ with our 2 beautiful daughters ages 8 and 5. I’ve been a stay at home Mom since they were born. I get back to Ct. every so often since I don’t live far and I do have a little bit of family and some friends that are still there. In June I ran in a 5K in Hartford with Susan and Alissa. It was to benefit Susan G. Komen and breast cancer. It was a great time and a great cause. I hope to do it again next year. Those girls are awesome!

Thank you Don Taylor! I’m assuming it was you who posted that hideous yet hysterical picture of me by the ferrari. I think the big sunglasses may be back in but I don’t think I can say the same for the jumpsuit and the banana clip. If I can find my old pictures, I will gladly dust off the cob webs and forward any good ones that I come across. You guys are doing a great job pulling this reunion together. 10 years was a blast and I’m sure 20 will be more of the same. Looking forward to it!

I’m trying this one more time because my first comments didn’t post for some reason.

I can’t wait to see everyone! Robin– please email me at lwalsh@whsv.com. Does anyone know Karen Keillor’s married name, email or phone number? I lost touch with her but want to make sure she is at the reunion since we had so much fun together at the 10 year. Pam and Robin will be there this time, right? email me!

I am almost unmarried and have two kids– my daughter will be a freshman later this month (!) and my son Ryan is going into 2nd grade. I sell television advertising and enjoy every minute of making up for some fun I wasn’t able to have from 23-35.

We’ll see you all very soon! Hugs and kisses! Lisa

I sent my stepdaughter off to her first day of high school this morning, so it seems only fitting that I add to the blog today. I can still remember my first day at PHS in 1983!!!!

Since 87 I’ve fulfilled a lot of goals, traveled to some exotic places, met many amazing people, found a career I love, married my soul mate, Charlie Brown, and became an instant mom to two - now 15 & 17. Within a year I will have my doctorate in international workforce development from the University of Georgia. We live in a small, historical town in the North Georgia mountains. It’s known for gold mines, moonshine, bluegrass, and the largest population of kangaroos outside of Australia (I have no idea why!). I’m the director of a college campus and am very active on way too many community boards. Despite being a yankee female among the good ol’ boys of Georgia, it’s a nice place to live. However, I look forward to putting my research to work in a developing nation once the kids have graduated from high school and Charlie & I are free to roam and save the world (well, he just wants to fish).

Can’t wait to see everyone - the updates have been so interesting! Thanks to the committee for putting all of this together.

Lisa W - you don’t happen to be at WHSV in VA?

Yes, ma’am. I’m in Harrisonburg. Did you go to school here? All of the sudden I’m thinking you went to JMU. Glad to hear someone else has current experience with teenagers. My daughter Sarah has been practicing for high school this summer (by driving her 14 year old self to Wendy’s for french fries!) so it’s been a learning experience reeling her in over the past few weeks. Were we like that?

Carol, which college are you working at?

I know my name is not on there, but I am not missing :) What about Ray Peterson, Phil Wells, John Carew….I am sure there are others….but those were just some names that stuck out to me….are they lost or found?

Also I have a bunch of pics from the 86 Euro tour,….how can I get them loaded up?? They are pretty funny :)

Carol, Robin, Lisa, Linda, ….well all you guys! Glad you are going to be there :)

    Lisa,

Ha! I worked at that TV station during my junior and senior years at JMU. That’s funny! I remember I met your friend there - Line (she was in the same sorority as my roommies. How did you end up there??? I was in the ‘burg last year for a college reunion. Stayed up at Massanutten. Do you remember the story that aired on WHSV about the rowdy house with over 25 wild students??? Yes, that was us. What a crock. We were 5 couples with kids in the age range of 2 - 6. There were pregnant moms, so we didn’t even drink. Must have been a slow news day!

We were angels when we were teenages. That’s my story & I’m stickin to it. Fortunately Cathryn is scared of vehicles. During her first driving lesson she ran over her dad.

I’m at cbrown@laniertech.edu if you want to chat and not bore the rest of the class!

Carol– That’s funny! My parents moved here from Connecticut 20 years ago. My sisters live here too so when Eddie and I separated three years ago, I moved here. You worked at the old station I guess. We are new and improved now– actually we have four stations airing out of the new building. I will email you later today.

What are everyone’s travel plans? I’m wondering if people are leaving on Sunday or Monday. Randi Bock might come with me and needs to make flight arrangements. Any input is appreciated.

Hello all, looking forward to seeing some old friends and seeing what they’ have been up to for the last 20 years. As for me I work at the same company as Mr Ercoli (Hocon Ind Gas) and have been married for the last 6 years to Angela who I dated for about 15 years. We have a very active 3 year old boy Niko, who keeps us very busy and a 10 year old Rat Terrier(Ruka) who is just a bitch. We are working on a second child and hopefully I will complete that “job” soon. We settled in a beautifull house in Wolcott. Great schools and neighbors. I was in the welding supply business right out of high school and stayed in it for about 8 years.I then was in the motorcycle industry for 5-6 years . I then, opened a Pizza Restraunt with my parents in Thomaston. After a few years in the pizza business(which was a great experience and I really enjoyed) the long hours started to affect my relationship with my then fiance Angela. We decided to sell the resturaunt and I went back into the welding supply business thanks to an opening left by Tom needing someone to replace him as he was being promoted.(thanks again Tom).As for what I do to keep my sanity, I started to get into collecting and restoring muscle cars, I also play poker with Mr Ercoli, Mr. Fisher, and Mr Nichols (Chris needs a cheat sheet to play..hahahahah), Oh and Tom thanks to your poker skills I will be able to send Niko to Duke. See you guys soon, AJ

First off I too, like Jenny Poulin Bronson, was strong armed into posting an update on the blog. I experienced this harassment from an organizing committee member who shall remain Steve Fisher. Jenny, at the reunion we will have to discuss this abuse of power and compare our harassments. Was there a lot of inappropriate touching in yours? Steve said it was necessary but I just never felt comfortable.

Anyway, what have I been doing the last twenty years? After college (UCONN ’91) I moved up to the Boston area where I have worked in the Biotech industry for the last 15 plus years, first in manufacturing, then customer education and most recently in sales. I don’t sell the drugs if you are looking for any but I do know a guy who knows a guy… well, see me at the reunion. I actually sell the stuff they use to make the drugs and best of all I get to work from home, not a bad gig.

I have been married for over 9 years to my wife Joanne who grew up around Boston and is now a stay at home mom. Both of us are kept astoundingly busy by our two and half year old triple sons, John, Matt and Tim. Yep, I said it, two and half year old triplet sons. You’ll know me at the reunion because I will be the guy with the pictures in his had and the big smile on his face, it could be the kids, it could be the scotch, who can tell.

    See you all there,

    Hello All,

I keep looking at this blog and thinking I should write, but never do. Hey Scott, I too am in the Boston area, also married to a local.

I think a lot of you already know where I am and what I am doing if you are in Southbury. My dad still has one of the stores and mom works in the building department, so I often get calls saying “Guess who was in today. . .”

Steven and I have been together for 14 years, married for 7. Isabel is almost 3, (next month). (Carleen, is it something in our gene pool, because not only is she very independent, etc but so is one of my neices!) I am a first grade teacher in a Catholic school in Boston. I love it!

I wish I could get home more, but it is really hard to do with Izzie. She is only finally starting to travel well. We will be celebrating her birthday while we are down on reunion weekend, so I am not sure about Saturday. I am waiting to hear some details to see if I can make it work. Hopefully we can meet up at other times too.

I need to stop babbling! I am sorry I fell out of touch with so many of you. I need to do a better job staying in touch. If anyone wants to chat you can email me at kdpobudziej@hotmail.com

    Hello Fellow Classmates,

It is hard to believe that 20 years have passed! I too received a “reminder” e-mail from Jenny to blog so here we go.

After a short visit to college I decided to make my way by short cutting the education route. Started out in sales and bounced from job to job. Worked hard and made my way like most do. Traveled for work and got to see a lot of great places across the country. Learned alot and met great people along the way, but after living out of a suitcase for a year and expanding the waist line a major change was needed. It was time to settle down and stay close to home.

I have been married 6 years to my wife Andrea. One daughter, Anna 3 years old and full of life. We live in Southbury. I have been my own boss for 9 years. I started a laundromat business and have expanded into dry cleaning. I currently have two locations with more in progress.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion! Please look at the list of classmates missing, and if you know of, or are in contact with anyone, get their information and enter it so we (the committee) can include everyone. Thanks!

After reading about Kelly Sanders penchant for blonde guys (“where have all the boys gone”) I’m compelled to expose myself… figuratively. I have no idea what Phil Wells or John Carew have done with themselves, but I don’t think I’ve “gone missing”. The last 20 years (ouch) have been spent traveling in a sense. I lived in Germany for 5 years (got married), came home for 4 to go to school, lived in the Bay Area/San Francisco for 8 years and now live in Colorado just south of Denver. I’ve had a good amount of success and a humbling amount of failure just as the rest of you have had. There are many of you that I would like to reconnect with and reminisce with so I’ll leave my email. Feel free to get in touch. Hope to hear from you soon.

p.s. I won’t be attending the reunion because I’ll be flying to CT for the holidays and have committed all of my vacation, plus I really don’t want to go on a diet.

Ray, when were you in the Bay Area? It’s strange that John Carew and I last spoke when he was coming out for a visit to the Bay Area to possibly live. I was there for grad. school and internships 91-97. Then I got married and moved to Thousand Oaks, CA and finally back east in 2001. I think I remember when you moved to Southbury, 5th grade, Mrs. Clement?

I missed the 10 year reunion but I’m definitely going to this one but I refuse to diet! I can’t wait. Hope to see many of there.

Ray Peterson is alive and in Colorado? Don’t know why Ray, but always wondered what happened to you! I spent the last 12 years there, living in Roxborough…basically Littleton. After looking at the list I realized the reason I wasn’t on the list was cuz I was never lost in the first place and then went on to put it all together that those on the list were always missing….DUH! I think I have always wondered what happened to my tormentors, so I guess that must by why I was searching out the “blond guys”. I kinda figured I’d catch crap for saying something about you guys. A few years ago Jeff Aronheim was in CO and I thought Frank Culkin…not sure if they are still there. Sorry you won’t be making it to the reunion…..are you still missing Chemistry with Nemicolo(sp??) I can still have nightmares about that guy not letting me graduate cuz I dont have enough credits and for walking out of his class, either that or I don’t have enough credits because of skipping Gym class. 20 years later??? yea that is ridiculous :)
I’ve sent in a bunch of pics from the Euro Tour and also some elementary school class photos, pretty funny!! Most of you are in those pics and probably have kids in that grade or older. Hoping Kurt can get them loaded up….if I sent it in the right format.
    See y’all in September

    Hi Everyone!
It has been fun reading what you have all been doing for the past 20 years. Andy (class of ‘86) and I have just celebrated our 15th anniversary this summer. We never strayed far from home and are still living in New Milford. We have been blessed with four children (3 boys and a girl). I have been a stay-at-home mom for the past 13 years. Only 12 more days left of summer vacation! It the most wonderful time of the year!

Carleen - I have to tell you that my 2 1/2 year old is fascinated by llamas. Whenever I drive by a farm near us, he gets angry if I forget to slow down so he can see them. Is the only difference between them and alpacas their size?

    Hey All,
I’m no longer lost even though I will not make the reunion. I have too many things on my plate.

After HS I went to College in Ohio for 3 years then spent the next 5 or so in Kansas and Missouri. I wasn’t really sure what I wanted and worked managing convience stores, spent time doing siding and windows and installing office panel systems. One day we decided to pick up and move to Wyoming. The economy sucked in the late 90s so joined the Army. Spent the next 10 years living in Germany and North Carolina. I got to vacation in hot spots like Kosovo (twice), Kuwait and Iraq. I left the service last year and now live near Fredericksburg VA.

I have been married for 16 years, have 2 boys and 1 girl. My current job title is Geospatial Intelligence Analyst. I work as a contractor at a federal agency.

Hope you all have fun at the reunion.

Hello everyone. It’s amazing to me that it’s been 20 years since high school. Since graduation I went to college in NH and then worked for Uniroyal Chemical (now Chemtura) in Middlebury for the next 10 years. I lived in Oxford and Naugatuck and now live in Wethersfield, CT with my husband (married 10 years this November) and our 2 kids, Emily – 5 and Ryan – 2. I tried to start my own business in Computer Consulting/Training and work from home but it turned out I am not the go-getter you need to be to start something like that. Right now I am a stay-at-home mom and most days I love it. Work can wait.
Unfortunately, I won’t be able to attend the reunion but have really enjoyed hearing what everyone is up to.

Wow, why am I up this early? Could it be the dehydration and the dull thumping pain in my head from too many of the Ostar’s “fruity” margaritas (and subsequent beers & wine)…..Yup. My wife loved them too (but she’s smarter than me - she knows when to ease up). I agree with Tom, we had a great time at the committee meeting last night and we actually did discuss a few things reunion event related. We’ll see what Alissa comes up with for our next meeting because the Ostar’s did a great job. Thanks again to Leo and Cathy.

The visual of Don being wrestled into the pool by Kurt and then the wet cell phone disassembled in a bag of dry rice in the Ostar’s kitchen…it makes me chuckle thinking about it now. Wherever Sue heard of that trick, I have no idea.

We all went through the yearbook and tried to interpret the cryptic initials and abbreviations that we each wrote - I think Jerry came closest to fully interpreting his (great stories, by the way Jerry!). We also looked at Kelley’s submitted pics (this must have been between 12 and 1 AM) and when we looked at the grade school pics, everyone was yelling out names as they recognized them. God, we were laughing a lot! I think Kurt said he was going to get those posted soon. He’s done great work on this site - can’t say it enough. He’s working a full time job and doing this on the side.

I was telling Don I would do this last night so here goes:

For anyone who is on the fence about coming (and I’ve discussed this with a couple of you via email) - PLEASE come. It doesn’t matter what your perceived social status was from that time or whether you might have some old grudges or hang ups. It’s been 20 years and we would like to see EVERYONE. You will reconnect with old friends and make new ones (the committee is a good representation of the diverstiy of our class and we’ve been having the best time). You are ALL personally invited. OK, I’ll step off of my soapbox now.

Oh, and AJ…I’ve been thinking how I’d get you back for that cheat sheet comment…but I can’t because it’s true. ;-)

Still can’t believe it’s been 20 years. Man, you guys got old. Luckily, through the strong power of denial, I have remained young.

Yeah, and I gotta second Alison’s comments about being on the committe. Had I known there would have cocktails by the pool, I would have agreed to help. I’m always very helpful once pumped full of tequila.

Let’s see, what else have I been doing? Gone through a period of personal growth, primarily around my mid-section. Been doing a tremendous amount of deep thinking, which resulted in my brain overheating, and we all know it’s heat that kills hair folicles and makes it fall out… Other than that, failed, succeeded, made friends, making my mortgage payments, learned what’s truly important in life (hint: it AIN’T money). (or good grammar for either, sorry Mr. Waugh).

Any teachers coming? I’d love to see Joe Calabro or Gary Waugh. Last time I saw Joe he looked great. Do you think Mr Waugh combed his hair yet, or that his sweaters aren’t shrunk?

As a member of the committee I must say it hasn’t all been fun and games. A lot of hard work has been done. Like making sure everyone’s glass was full, everyone had enough to eat, and no one drowned during the marathon session. However, even after all the work we’ve done, we are still having trouble locating some missing people.

Please look at the list of missing classmates, which I’m sure has been updated and see if you know the whereabouts of anyone. We’d like to give everyone as much notice as possible so they could make plans to attend. Hopefully everyone can make at least one of the days, if not both.

Thank you Becky for the congrats on our son (Daniel). He just turned 9 and our daughter Emily will be 11 in 10 days. Laurel and I celebrated our 15th anniversary in May and I look forward to at least 60 more.

I like the idea Dave, of blaming the hair loss on deep thinking. Here I was blaming my Dad and genetics in general. Follicularly speaking, I look quite a bit different than I did at PHS in 1987.

I’m not sure what Scott meant about abuse of power. I merely suggested that he might want to post some news about himself. Perhaps he misinterpreted what I said when I mentioned he might disappear if he didn’t post something. Either way I’m glad to see he posted and if I can find the number of the person I hired to remind him to post, everything will be ok.

It’s been great to read what everyone’s been up to and I look forward to hearing more in a month.

    See you there.

    Hi All,

Hope everyone is doing well. I won’t be at the reunion but thought I’d drop a quick note here and give a thumbnail sketch of the last 20 years. :)

I received a BS in Geology that I never used from UConn. Rocks in my head I guess. Ended up working at a small software company in Southbury called Phoenix System and became a (very) Jr Partner. Left that job about 7 years ago and one my former clients called me 3 months later and asked, “Would you please PLEASE come for for us?” How could I say no? LOL That’s how I ended up at the Fairfield Public Schools the past 7 years working as an “Applications Analyst”; which is just some fancy way of saying I support their financial software and write database applications with MS Access and SQL Server.

Wasn’t that an exciting job history?

    Hm.

Other than that I really don’t have much to report. Never married. No kids. Living in Naugatuck these days. I’ve been active at the Fool (www.fool.com) to the point where they “hired me” as a stroller of their discussion boards (woo hoo!)…and have been eagerly awaiting my achievement of financial independence and retirement…alas that’s at least another 10-20 years out! :::grumble grumble:::

I hope everyone has a great time and if perchance someone wants to say hello I can be reached at vonkarl@aol.com

Have a great time at the reunion!

    Hi y’all,

I believe the PHS reunion home page reads something of the nature, “aren’t we still very much the same?”. Well I sure hope not. If that’s the case, can I apologize in advance?

I live in Columbia, South Carolina. I became a Gamecock after graduating from PHS. Worked for a health insurance company upon graduating from college. Did that for a couple years then joined a small CPA firm. I have a four minute commute to the office and travel out of town five weeks a year.

Married my wife Denise in 1994, adopted my daughter east of Moscow in 1999 and have twin five year old sons. In an impulsive decision, I’m bringing my whole family. Does anyone have a wiffle ball and bat to bring to Hopbrook? Not sure mine will fit in my suitcase.

I’m always looking for people to play golf. Please consider this my open invitation for anyone to visit and play golf. jpTaxPlanning@Gmail.com

    See y’all there!

    Hello,
How is everyone doing well I hope. I have considered coming to the reunion and am wondering how folks feel about people attending who did not graduate. There are many people I would love to see and catch up with. I live in Blacksburg Va., with my wife Maggie and our four year old son Johnny. Johnny is a great kid! Believe it or not I am a high school teacher here in Virginia.
After leaving high school I had every job with the exception of Indian chief, they had very specific requirements. I settled into floor covering and I do mean settled, I installed floors until I was about 26. During that time I moved to Blacksburg, Jarod Williams was attending Vet school there and was foolish enough to invite me down here to live. The floor covering world as glamorous as it was did not really make me feel good about myself at the end of the day in fact I hated it. My wife had just finished her master’s degree and has taken a position at a residential facility working with at-risk youth. The same company was opening a similar facility for boys and they asked me if I would be interested in working as a counselor. I had started attending community college at this point trying to get an exit strategy from floors. I took the position and worked as a counselor while I finished my associates’ degree in education. I then took a position at the school were I taught woodshop and applied math. While working at the school I completed a B.S. in psychology from Radford University. I then took a position as a Special Education Teacher at the Blacksburg High School, helping then deal with at-risk/troubled youth something I know a little about. I also teach the after coordinate and teach the after school GED program at the school. In December I will be graduating again with my Masters of Education. I think teaching college will be where I finish my career.
Now the good stuff! I also spend almost all of my free time fishing offshore in North Carolina with your friend and mine Captain Don Delre. We have caught some unbelievable fish. I landed a nice white marlin this spring and countless other monsters from the deep. W e fish most of the big tournaments in the Carolinas and have placed in a few. We fish a 33’ hydra sport with twin 300’s it is a beast! We need to bring some of you on a trip if you are interested.
Well let me know what you guys think, I need to pay this week if I am coming but unless invited I will not attend.
    Let me know

Wow, great to hear so many people will be coming. I think we will have a great time. Don’t forget about the casual get together at Shadrach’s located in the old Heritage Inn - on Friday.

Dennis I loved what you wrote. I’m really glad you decided to come. I too have had just about every job under the sun. I got into the restaurant business after college up in Boston. I was the lead (only - hence lead) chef at a California style cafe in the early 90’s. I left that to travel across country for 3 months. When I came home, I lived with my parents for about 3 seconds before I realized that was not a good plan and moved back to Boston.

I waited tables, tended bar, managed cafes and restaurants while pursuing an array of entrepreneurial gigs (personal chef, public relations and Marketing agent to “would be/wanna be” stars). In between all that I managed to get a Masters in Critical and Creative thinking, which as it may sound, prepares you to think really well about what you are not actually doing.

Eventually I fell into the Health Food business and I am currently a Regional Manager for United Natural Brands which is a division of UNFI, a natural food distributor. I am finishing up a Masters Degree in Holistic Nutrition on my way to a PhD in Naturopathy.

Aaron, that’s why I was hoping you would come to the reunion, it would be great to see you and chat about industry stuff. You always made me laugh in high school. Maybe we will cross paths at Expo.

Finally, while renting a room in my Somerville apartment, I lured a man into my world and he has yet to escape. We got married 4 years ago and have an amazing 2.5 year old son, Xander.

Ray Peterson, I am sorry to hear you won’t be able to make it. It would be nice to say hi and meet your family! The last time I saw you, you were getting on a bus to go into the service – 20 years ago!

After the game before we cross home plate to shake hands, Dennis and Tim will pick out who we’ll beat up. They’ll start the brawl and we’ll all join in. What do you think? The kids will love it!

    Linda,
Are you going to bring your ferrari to the reunion? Can I drive it?

    Robin,

    Hey All,

Nice to read all the wonderful things you have all done, but I know it’s been 20 years because I have to look at your pictures before I can say “Oh yeah, I remember them”. Well I’m in sunny Southern CA and love it. Get this – I even bought a house here – it’s 1300 sq. feet and I paid over a quarter of million dollars for it – I know I’m paying for the weather. What have I been doing? After PHS, I moved to Santa Barbara, CA with my parents Dudes and it was fun, then moved to Long Beach, CA for college where I met husband Colin who lived across the hall from me in the Dorms. Colin is actually from Delaware (I came 3, 000 miles to meet a guy from Delaware) but he makes me a better person – and he is wonderful! I got my identity stolen which I had to prove that there is no way at 9 years old I owned a house in Wisconsin and then had it foreclosed on me (trust me, it’s not as easy as you think to prove that one- thank god for child labor laws). Met two presidents (really I did) and had one even hit on me – bet you can’t guess which one. I was in good shape then. Graduated with college in just enough time for me and June’s bet – (Hi Juanita), got married to Colin in Palm Springs and had Juanita and Tina as my bridesmaid (thanks!), worked in the public and private University system for 12 years as an Administrator – keep saying I’ll go back (for free this time) to get my Master’s but why – good job Ron! I have two beautiful daughters ages 7 and 4 – they are great. Won’t be at the reunion – can’t make it back – needed a little more notice maybe next time. If Richard (Dick) Boston is there – give him my,,, well you can tell him that I have never forgotten when he called me a benign tumor, because I was not life threatening but I sure was annoying – I wonder why his parents called him Dick….If you want to get a hold of me you can contact my agent Tina Manna Lubus – love ya, Sister. Shout out David D and Erin M. Nice to hear from you! Peace out.

All digits are in good working order. Actually bought a piano last month. I do however have a fear of children closing car doors. My kids have never touched one. I’m guessing this event traumatized your first grade? Understandably. jp

Ledbetter - yes…we had some good days in the ‘hood. Do you member when we made up a dance to “Sweet Dreams are Made of This” and performed it at Mucha’s pool???? Maybe with the right mixture of cocktails we can re-enact it at the reunion. Dave - yeah, get excited.

Ms. Pelletier’s 3rd grade class rocked! Kelley - you just had to be on Chris Davis, didn’t you????!!!! That’s OK, you could have had him. He took back the Valentine’s day card he gave me, erased my name, and gave it to Kristie Douglas. Whatever!

Funny - I couldn’t tell you what I had for lunch yesterday

    Hey Fellow Pomperaugians,

OK, it’s Sept. 1 and I just mailed my check — we’re late, but coming!

It took me twenty years to realize how many Daves are in our class. I’m the McClintock flavor. (I think a band called The Daves was rumored to be forming in the halls of PHS at one point — Aaron and Alan? I should have joined!)

Jenny (Poulin) Bronson found me lost in space and threw me a tether. I was glad to have the oxygen — that Major Tom routine was getting old.

Speaking of getting old, I am! I’d like to say the 40 pounds I’ve gained were acquired in pairs over these 20 years. But the truth is that I started packing ‘em on when I got married in 1995. (Then again, there’s a Eurotour photo that shows how near-death skinny I was to begin with!) My wife, Becky, is a former mother-baby nurse, and sometimes I joke that my gut is about to be born. The only bright side was having that Ben & Jerry’s flavor named after me: Chubby Hubby.

Well, big thanks to Cathy, Sue, Alissa, Jenny, Jill, Don, Jerry, Kurt, Steve, Chris, and Tom and anyone I missed for gathering everyone. Kurt, this blog is great, and it’s fantastic to read how everybody is doing. I’m glad for everybody’s good times over these years, and as I wrote to Jenny, I owe you all at least 20 years of congratulations. (I guess tough times have some value, but I may need another ten years to find it.) Well, anyway … think of something happier … anybody seen Superbad yet?

I went to NYU and wound up staying in NYC. During school and in my 20’s, I tried hard to “make it” in music. CBGBs, edgy bars in the Village, proto-grunge, a bit of college radio, and solo singer-songwriter stuff on the side. But then Jimmy quit, and Jody got married. I should have known we’d never get very far. Back in the summer of … 1992, 1993?

At the same time, I got into book publishing. I’m a mild-mannered computer book editor and publisher of sorts. We do books for the people who manage computer people, and books on software design and requirements analysis. Great beach reading. I’ve done editing/writing projects on the side, and I tried it full-time for two years. I started having more business ideas than music ideas, so I decided to go to business school. I’m at NYU again (it counts as full-time, and I’m working full-time, yee hoo!). Ironically, some of my MBA pals want to start a band — there’s some kind of “dad band” movement for the elderly and age-challenged. We may call ourselves the Multinationals — so far, I’m the only American :)

I’m really looking forward to seeing y’all — either way, before or after, or if you can’t make it, say howdy at dave wordsupply com. (Am I paranoid about spam? :) If you’re visiting/in NYC, we’ll have a good excuse to get a drink . . .

JP…..some things one never forgets :) Lets say you left an imprint. Riding the bus was always an adventure, wasn’t it? Looking back it was fun. I remember you had a tree house? I was over there with Karen Schneider…remember her? I think you had a NO girls rule!

Carol- 3rd grade, ah those were the days! remember the club we made? Me, you, Sheryl Corti (anyone know if she is coming)….it was of the “Charlie’s Angels” theme but instead it was Chris’ Angels….I wonder if he ever knew that??? Ooops now he might. Hey Chris, you coming to the reunion? I mean come on, all the girls in 3rd grade loved Chris Davis. Look at that hair….and YES I remember being pretty excited to stand next to him for class pics…..SO FUNNY~!~ I couldn’t get much closer, gotta love the gap. It will be great to see you :)

Dave MC…so glad you have resurfaced! Ledbetter and I were wondering what ever happened to your trench coat and if you still drink red wine. If so I’m buying! ;)

Aaron - glad to hear you are doing well, I had read about you at one point I think teaching at the Charter Magnet School. Can you or Alyssa get me some natural food discounts????

Karin - alpacas are very much like llamas, only shorter/smaller, but their fiber is worth much more. You are welcome to come out and see ours!

Caroline - you’re alive! I work right around the corner from you in Rocky Hill

John P. - I think all my help in statistics must have helped you along the way…….. Congrats on the family.
Yes, Norman has a very impressive portfolio - U2, George Clooney, Sandra Bullock, Elle Macphearson, Chris Rock, Bruce Springsteen, Eminem, Georgio Armani, Liv Tyler, Scarlett J………the list goes on; INCREDIBLE!!

Hey Carleen — Yes, we’ll be at both events. It’ll be great to see you! We went up to Quassy last weekend, and I drove us up Peter Rd. on the way home — our old houses look good. As far as “struggling punk band or Beatles throwback group” those are always possible, but “struggling” and “throwback” always apply :) I really admire your balance of tax-deferral strategies and Reiki — seriously, I need both. Our six-year-old is taking yoga, but I can’t touch my toes :(

Hey Kelley and Kathy — what do the kids say these days, LOL, LMAO? You are hilarious. The trench is somewhere, and I’m almost old enough to wear it :) Red wine would be perfect (however bittersweet), but I’ll let the waiter “uncork” it this time ;o) Seriously, though, it will be great to see you guys. :)

I live in Rhode Island, which I’ve basically called home since my parents moved here within months of our graduating in 1987. I have an amazing 3 year old son and a satisfying job with a local non-profit that focuses on issues related to urban revitalization in Providence. Have been doing this since getting a degree in urban planning 10 years ago. Prior to that I had some cool experiences in the Peace Corps and then had fun readjusting to US life near the beach.

Overall it’s been a good 20 years and an interesting journey getting here.

    See you soon, Katie

Wow! It’s great to hear so many of us are working to make a difference in the lives of children. Dennis Doolan, your message has made such an impression on me, and I’m psyched to hear how well you’re doing. I still keep in touch with Meredith….had no idea Don had “sea legs”. My husband and I are both “Salty Dogs” ourselves. Boating is what brought us together, 1st a 34′ Mainship Cruiser that I invested my life savings in at 29 before we got married….then 3-4 boats afterward, including a couple of fishing boats, a nice Tiara and now the downgrade to a 20ft Angler. This is the 1st summer we’ve caught Blues and Flouder in LI Sound together. Fun!
I graduated from SUNY-New Paltz, NY w/ BFA. Did some soul searching: VT,NY and OR. Lots of travel-US,Europe and Carribean. Was Stable Corporal at Governor’s Horse Guard of Ct for 5 yr’s, lots of volunteer work. Settled into Human Resources at UPS, then for a Bio-Tech company. I’ve been married to Skip Rowland- 7 yrs.- we have a beautiful, and sometimes “fresh” 4 yo. daughter, “Courtney Paige”. Right now I’m a “stay at home mom” (yeah right!-who stays at home these days w/ their kids?)-and am going through processing to become a Mentor to a foster child. I’m interested in migrating toward “Social Work”, and determined to do something that will make a difference-rather than working for some “Fat Cat”. We’re looking forward to the reunion, and “meeting” everyone again. Anybody hear from Ginger/Lexi? Curious what they’re up to?? Best- Deana (Trzaski) Rowland.

    Hello,

It’s nice to find everyone well. I live in Florida with my husband Steve. We have been married for 4 yrs and been together for 10 – no kids yet but I have a stepdaughter we just sent off to college. I lived in Cape Cod MA for a few years then I moved to Florida where I have lived for the past 17 years. Don Taylor came to visit once but all he did was complain about the heat. :) (Of course he did visit in the middle of summer).
I started cutting hair after high school but then I decided that if I was going to have to work I was going to get a cushy job. So, I went back to school and got my bachelors degree in computer science and now I sit behind a computer in a cushy chair.
I got to travel to a few other countries with a girlfriend of mine when I was in my 20’s.
I ran a Marathon about 5 years ago for the Leukemia and Lymphoma society and have been running ½ marathons since then. Although, this year I have slacked off immensely.
My husband and I are planning to be in Boston the same time as the reunion. I don’t think we will be able to make it to Connecticut. Hope you all have fun.

    Take care,

    Sheryl

    HELLO,

I can’t believe I’ve been on the computer this long reading this whole blog. So I finally decided to add something, even though the reunion is only a little over a week away.

As Matt said, we are both looking forward to seeing everyone. After graduation, Matt went to S.U.N.Y. @ Buffalo and I went to U.R.I. After graduating college in 1991, we decided to get married. That was 14 years ago and we now have 2 beautiful girls, Lila (7 1/2 yrs) and Kaylyn (4 yrs). Matt’s currently working for Pratt & Whitney in Cheshire & I’ve been an Elementary Music teacher for 14+ years in Torrington.

Except for a small stint in Wallingford, we’ve been living in Middlebury. First over on Yale Avenue by Memorial Middle School and now on the other side of town at Brookside of Middlebury. Great neighborhood and for me it’s kinda strange because its in the old cow field, right across the street from the house I grew up in.

Well that’s it for now. I’m sure that Matt and I will catch up more with people at the reunion.

    Take Care,
    Nancy

What’s up everyone? Dawn and I were so surprised to see how many people are going to the reunion! We had such a blast talking on the phone tonight looking at photos and reading your comments. We cannot attend the hotel party on 9/22/07 but will be at the picnic on 9/23/07. We hope the majority of you will be there as we are really looking forward to seeing all of you.

To Dennis Doolan-ROCK ON WITH YOUR BAD SELF! We loved your story the best and are so impressed with all you’ve done with your life. Dawn said you’d win the most drastically changed lifestyle award.

Dawn has been married for 16 years and has two boys, Christopher and Devon. I have been married for 14 years and have 3 children, Nick, Sarah and the new baby Ryan, 17 months. My husband Scott thought we were done having kids but I thought otherwise!

Dawn and I did not make the 10 year reunion but are looking forward to the 20th!!!!!!

    Hi there,

I really enjoyed reading about all of you tonight. Erin McCormick, I was interested in your comments as I also got my degree in Social Work (WCSU) but after 33 job interviews that summer and not finding a job that paid more than I was making as a cocktail waitress, I gave up in disgust. I took an excel class and started temping as an admin assistant at Cendant Mobility (relocation industry) and ended up staying there for 8 years. I just started in March at AIRES relocation and love it. There is a lot to be said for working for a smaller company versus a big, huge one. Of course, I would have loved to spend my life as a famous stage actress but one has to eat, right? Once my little one gets a bit bigger, I would love to go back to school to get my masters in social work or teaching. I see a lot of you are teachers. That’s great! Like you, I cannot believe 20 years has come and gone. It really is amazing how fast it went by. Dawn and I got into a conversation tonight about whether we would go back to high school if allowed to and do it all over again. She said yes, and I said no. I had a lot of fun (too much!!) in high school but would not trade my life now for anything. I love my husband, my kids, my little house in Bethel and my mature, thirty something self. I am so much more comfortable with myself and the world around me than I was in high school. I’m interested in what you would do. Would you go back?????……….

Do you remember that party we had one year when all our parents were at a block party? I remember Sara and Morton, Chris DelNegro, you and then I can’t remember who else was there. I remember we got drunk and I got in so much trouble beacuse Dawn got sick at my house that night when she slept over.

    Hey Everyone!
I am so sorry that I will miss all of you this weekend. I was hoping to get up there but it was just the wrong timing for me. Surprising considering I live right down the road in DC and come home all the time. Anyway, I will be thinking of you. Have a drink for me.

I hope everyone is doing well. It is so nice to see all of you writing back and forth. I have been in the DC area now for about 14 years after attending Ohio State University (GO BUCKS!!!) and Northeastern University. I stopped over in Atlanta for a while too. I am still a middle school counselor and love it. I have a wonderful 6 year old daughter, Lexi, who is very active. She is my leader and athletic girl. Can’t keep up with her but it’s a blast.

Anyway, feel free to email me at Kris_A_Douglas@mcpsmd.org. I would love to hear from you.

    Have a great time!

Well we pulled it off, Just got home @ 6:45 from Hop Brook, left Sue, Don & Tom Brown to finish off the beer & Don took his chances w/ the chesseburgers in the tin. YIKES!! Anyhow, alot of people were able to attend and the weather was awsome which made this reunion an incredible weekend for all that were able to attend. I definately missed some OLD faces I would have like to see but man, just like school, drunk & stupid for 3 days!!! not a record by any means but fun none the less.. Getting drunk w/ Zimmer & Nichols like old days, Laclair kept up quite well. I hope more people attend next time for 25th or 30th. For those who attended they can tell you just how great the weekend was and how well everything went.. It’s worth it to come see some OLD friend..
Thanks for letting me be a part of it I had a great time.
Jim how is your grill… NICE HUH…
Planning on trying to get together w alot of you again soon!!

Hey Guys, I had a great time on Sat but my pregnant wife was really tired so we left at 9:30. I was planning on returning but she made me an offer I couldn’t refuse if I stayed. I should have come back. I thought a dirty sanchez was some type of martini. Anyways we had a great time even though Tom and Teresa showed up. And I actually won something!!!! But I forgot it when we left. It was great talking to Franklin and his wife, Dave Deluca, Jim Gilbert, Terry Molica, Bill Allen, and all the others whose names I actually remembered. I hope everyone stays in touch through this website until the next reunion. If anyone is interested in a monthly poker game at my house please email me at vmaxrider@hotmail.com It would be great to keep these relationships going, and playing poker with Chris Nichols is like getting free money!!!!!! Thanks, AJ

p.s Did all the women at the reunion actually get HOTTER since high school!!!!!!

What a fun weekend, huh? I was happy to see so many faces that I hadn’t seen in 20 years. It was especially nice to chat with some folks that I didn’t know as well at PHS on Friday and Saturday. I know I didn’t say hello to everyone that I wanted to and thought I would do so on Sunday but our girls had other ideas and hence, our early departure (All 4 of us took a nap at 3PM and didn’t wake until 5:30PM)

I wanted to let you know that all of the pictures that were taken on Saturday night will be posted on Snapfish.com within the next few days (before I fly out to Kansas for a wedding mid-week). The photographer was Colleen Wadman’s sister (whose name I can’t recall at the moment - sorry!). Anyway, many, many thanks to her for taking on that task. Sue, please pass that along. I think you will all enjoy them. I will post the link on this blog and I’m sure Kurt will post it to the home page too.

I want to thank my fellow committee members for the great experience of working with them to put this together. I will miss the comradarie of our meetings. I hope can collaborate again on the next reunion.

Finally, it’s time to address Mr. Capaldo’s poker jab…..

I walked away with winnings at our last gathering (as I do 90% of the time!). I think you must have been referring to one of those fantasies you conjur up when you think of beating me in poker. (By the way, AJ has a sweet setup in his basement. It’s a real “man cave”…foozball table….pool table….wet bar…and, the huge poker table).

    Hi everyone,
First of all, I want to say thanks and that I had a really good time. Yes, I lost my my shoes, my husband(a few times), my car and my mind, but it was great to see everyone. I think we need to do this more often because it’s been 20 years since I’ve slept until 9 o’clock. To half of you married men out there- why do I have to be introduced to your wives as “Dons’ sister”? Alzheimers may be setting in but I thought that I was the one who hung out with you. all that aside, I ‘m glad that people are still using this because it took me this long to even read these notes. I never had a chance to say things so Katie Murray you may know of a place in Providence called Solar Aquatics? Well, I went to school in RI and did the research to give you that wonderful water that you drink today (I hope it’s ok) Deana, I’m sorry that I didn’t see more of you but I ll give you a call. Kelly- and Erin -WOW! Dennis, Jerry (and apparently the rest of the class) let me know when a bunch of you are going down to see my brother so I can come too. Oh by the way Maggie, my parents house did catch on fire and their dog did die this weekend. Oh what a wonderful 24 hours its been! JACOB- THANKS!!! The one thing that I need to know is
WHO HAD THE CRUSH ON MR. WAUGH?!?!?!??

  135. Kathy Ledbetter said,

    Hi everybody!

Meredith - I think I saw your shoes if they’re black peep toed ones. Ask the guys down the hall from 706. The crush was had by Sara and me! Sara Bassett loved his bottom (I’m just rewrote that in case Gary is reading this too - hee hee) and how cool it was of him to play U2 music during class to get his point across about Irish history!

I had such a good time. I really want to get together again next year or the year after when we’re 40.

Thanks to Kurt, Jerry, Cathy, etc… I know this blog and website has had a huge impact on attendance and overall connection. Thanks again, Kathy

I don’t know where to start so much happened this weekend. First of all thanks to the whole committee! To me the meetings were as much fun as the work involved; it was a true pleasure working with all of you!

First Friday, Golf on a beautiful sunny day (not that I could hit the ball) followed up by a gathering at the Heritage Inn. Got to see my 5th grade love of my life, and she thought I wouldn’t remember our history. It was great to hang again in familiar surroundings with old friends. To be honest it is hard to imagine 20 years have come and gone, the only change I really noticed was a few receding hair lines, some no hair lines at all.

Saturday, the formal was a great turn out! All the feedback was great! The party really started floor to floor room to room after midnight. Too many stories to tell but the most memorable started with being escorted outside by security because we had too many people in a room, not to mention the odor of smoke. It was just my luck the security guard new me from my store. He asks me what my name was and I told him “Jeff Lowe”. We were told we could go to the gazebo out in front of the hotel. Great stories followed by more drinking until Scott had to pee. With his back to the gazebo the unmistakable sound of water sprinklers started. Watching him side step while peeing to avoid the stream of water with no success almost made me pee my pants laughing.

Sunday, what can I say the weather could not have been better! Family day was exactly what I expected; great people, good food, music (thanks Ritters), games for the kids (thanks Cathy) even a real clown. I can only hope that we all keep in touch! I consider myself lucky to have had a great high school experience and reliving it this past weekend was great.

    Hello,
I just wanted to say thank you. Dennis has come far and I know he’s proud of himself, but your genuine happiness for his success and the “honorary degree” were validation that only you could provide. I think it restored a part of his history that is critical.
I was impressed by the complete lack of posturing and jockying for status. Everyone seemed unconditionally glad to see each other, and in Den’s case, able to pick up where he left off, the sign of a true friendship.
In an effort to remain in touch with you and to familiarize our son with his Yankee roots, we plan to rent a house at Bantum Lake every year and have a party there on the fourth of July. We hope to see you all there next summer.
Thanks again, that was a gift. I enjoyed meeting everyone.
    Maggie
ps. To the people I encountered in the elevator at 1am, I hope I wasn’t too short or abrupt when you tried to converse with me. I was headed to the desk to buy snacks, then I went to our room at ate 4 twix bars and a bag of chips, and then fell asleep with all the lights on, to give you an idea of what mindset I was in:)
pps Kurt’s dancing was also a gift, I loved it!

I just wanted to say what an awesome job that was done on this past weekend by all involved. I didn’t go to PHS, but can’t wait for the next reunion myself. Kurt and I woke up Sunday morning laughing at what had transpired. I haven’t had a “permasmile” like that in years. It was nice to see old faces and meet new friends. Lisa Walsh, you are a riot. Maggie it was nice to have met you and to see that Dennis is doing so well. 4th of July sounds good to us. Keep in touch. Well thanks again to the reunion committee for a job well done. Hello everybody. All recovered from the bout of drinking? Definitely had a good time. Good drink, bad food, great company. What more could you want? I was also impressed with the lack of posturing. Called Frank Mirrer “Doctor” and he said “please, just Frank”. Awesome to see Mr. Doolan doing so well, turned into the man we knew he could be. Bet he’s one hell of a good teacher. Everybody seemed to hav a good time. I’ve known Rich Cote since we were 4 and I never knew he was such a dancer. The “Changed the least in 20 years award” is a tie Between Lara (Ritacco) Proulx, Sara Basset, and Katie Murray. Sue Engelhard still looks like she’s 20, but she did have curley hair back then so… And frankly I don’t give a crap how the guys look. Glad to see many of you men have been doing alot of deep thinking and personal growth like I have. Anyway, keep us all posted via this site how you are all doing. I live in Terryville, CT if you want to look me up.

    Guys,
What a great time!!! I do not know if my brain has recovered from all the memory overload it experienced at the reunion. It really meant a lot to me to get back in contact with many of you. Chris I will be giving you a call( I bet your already second guessing that not having a private number thing), we need to get the kids together sometime. I wish I had more time to catch up but there were so many folks. Jimmy “The Grill” Behuniak, missed you, hopefully we will hear from you soon and enjoy. Jerry see you next weekend for the big tournament. Kurt it was great to see you. Maggie keeps talking about the dancing and wants to know if you have considered a career as a, “Wedding Dancer.” Sam you crazy son of a #@$#@ it was great to harass folks with you again, the elevator guy should have shared his water with you, it was just plain rude! Mike it was good catching up with you, still the same great guy I remember. Alissa(sp) you are my vote for prom queen, you have never looked better eat your heart out #@$%#. Cathy you must be great with those kids and they need you believe me. High school can be an awful place if you feel like you are not wanted, valued or understood; I heard it from a reliable source. Generally they are not bad people who do not care about themselves or others, just kid’s in a lot of pain. To the whole committee and the three people I will be mad I did not mention the second I am done, THANK YOU for including me in your reunion. It was strange for me seeing you folks, at first it was like visiting a second life. The shocked look I get from you when I say I am a teacher is the exact same look I get here when I say I never graduated. It is nice to know that many of you believed in me when I was unbelievable thanks again. As Maggie said we are planning a vacation on Bantam or Zoar this summer just hammering out the details, I post when we have something definite.
    Thanks for saving my spot

    Hello Everyone,

Great seeing you all. Thanks to the committee for organizing the reunion. Very well done. It felt like a high school party there for a little while. The only difference was that I woke up next to a grill. Sorry I missed the picnic, I could have brought her along.

As I write this, my kids are screaming in the background. I guess there’s no escaping the fact that none of us are 17 years old anymore.

Nice seeing you, Denny, keep up the good life. I’ll see you again. And it was great to see some members of the old crew: Sam, Jerry, Kurt, all you clowns. And everyone else. You all look fabulous. Don’t forget where Maine is, north: behuniak@yahoo.com.

Now I got to get back to my grill.

    Hello Everyone:

What a great weekend it was. From the golf on Friday to the picnic on Sunday, I’d say the reunion was a big success. Being a part of the committee was really fun because it was as if the reunion started for me back in June, and lasted three months instead of 1 or 2 days. I’d have to say my favorite part was being at the check in table. I got to see everyone come in and for most it was the only chance I had to say hello. I was only scheduled for 1/2 hour or so but was able to stay for almost 2 (thank you fellow committee members).

I was able to talk to so many people and relive so many great memories (so Katie, has your mom made parole?). Talking Little League with Franklin and Tim Williams brought back a lot of good memories too. Looking back, I was surprised at how many people I have had as a part of my life, small as some (the moments) were. I thought the Honorary Degree for Dennis was a great idea, and I’m glad I was inside to see that, well done!!

I love looking at the pictures Chris and Lisa took (thank you) and look forward to seeing the ones our roving photog was able to take.

In talking with other committee members and more than a few classmates, I expect we’ll not wait another 10 years to get together again. Of course we’ll keep everyone posted via the website, so please check in and stay in touch.

Thank you all again for making the weekend a success and to those that were not able to make it this time, we look forward to seeing you next time.

    Enjoy,
    Steve-

Wow had a couple days catch up to do in reading but I mad it.. Chris Thanks for the use of your camera & Lisa some nice after hours shops… Who else out there is holding back..? Jim, enjoy the grill, I own the same one & it is great. It works off of a disposable tank but if you need the adaptor hose for it drop me a line @ work tercoli@hocongas.com & you can hook up to your regular tank. I don’t know the official total we raised but I think it was aprox $850.00 from the Clock & Grill raffle to KEEP THE BLOG ALIVE raffle.. Awsome. I beleive it is $10.00 p/mo currently so w/ Kurts help and possible “donations” from those in the class who have “Struck it Rich” we can keep in better contact so hopefully everyone can have the oppertunity to make our next get together! Norm are you there…
My kids 18th B-day party Sat. so I need my rest if I’m gunna keep up.. Also Joe Capaldo’s Stag Saturday in Waterville @ the old fire house for anyone interested.. I’m told it will be .. well let’s just say entertaining..

My sentiments echo what has been written - it was so great to see my fellow grads and catch up. I had this unexpected affection for everyone - a nostalgia for the kids that we were and that I could still see in each face. It was very sweet.

My thanks as well to the committee for all of your efforts. Obviously greatly appreciated.

Meredith - thanks for your contribution to our water supply, I had no idea, jus thought it was naturally good from the source. I’m a tap girl and will be forever grateful!
Dave D - I guess that’s a compliment, least changed? I don’t get carded anymore though and at one time was very proud of that fact. And I don’t think I talked so much in high school! It was great catching up with you. Maybe I can join next year’s 5K, I’d like to contribute.
And Steve - must you continue? I don’t think you’ve ever understood how sensitive I am about that parole topic.
Dave McC, I’m sorry for your family’s loss. I was looking forward to seeing you as I know were many others.

It’s hard to believe that with 8 hours of nonstop talking (my jaw hurt) I didn’t get to catch up with everyone (Liz Morris- how did you get by me? And Franklin, I know we’re practically neighbors. Don’t be surprised to find me at your door). And then there are those who shall be named who I’d hoped to see - Megan B, Heidi S, Katie D, among others - who couldn’t make it.
We’ll just have to meet again in 5 years. Or make it sooner if you’re ever passing by Providence.

    Be well, Katie

Hi Katie — thanks for what you wrote. (The funeral turned into a family reunion of sorts, on the bright side.) I saw your first post and admired how you went into the Peace Corps and are working in urban revitalization. (Senator Murray, I will drive up for your campaign!) I was so sorry not to make it, and I’m very grateful to see the photos — and it looks like it was huge fun.

Professor Jim — sorry I missed you and twenty years of your journey — your post was excellent. Any music going on, or music among your offspring?

Alissa, I love your quote: “prepares you to think really well about what you are not actually doing.” That’s so hilarious and true at the same time - it sums up a lot of what I’ve done (and hence haven’t done). Sorry I missed you, and I hope you can teach me to eat better.

Shout outs (send me an update): Morten, Rick Bette, Phil Beach, Franklin, Bob Lynam, Donovan, Dave Racenet, Scott Fergusson!, Will MacBride, Chuck, Liz, Cathy, Sara, Robin, Jen Segall, Jen Holloway (I e-mailed a newscaster in Georgia with your domain!), June, Kolleen, Heidi, Lisa J., Megan — and everybody . . .

    Hey,
    Fishing update
As I said Jerry Crane fished the Cape Fear Battle of the Beaches Blue water Fishing Tournament. Well the results are in… Fish Tales Captained By Don Delre crushed the competition. We won the Blue water division for total pounds and the largest fish Calcutta, a monster Wahoo. Jerry “The Crane” Crane pulled in a 100lbs sailfish and the largest of the 10 Wahoo caught. Bob “The Sailfish” Reinduae also landed a sail. Dan “Gaff of Death” Deiterle was extremely impressive. Besides the prize money we also captured the trophy back for Wrightsville beach by winning the most categories; we were the all around winners. Expect big things from “Team Team” Fishing always, and always remember on Team Team, it is about the team.
I will post more victories as they come.

Sounds and looks like I missed a great deal of fun. Thank you to those who have posted pictures because it helped me to have a small part of the reunion that I so much wanted to attend but just could not make (too soon after baby Jonathan’s birth for travel). Katie, they are right you have not changed much, my Mom and Dad said to tell you folks hello we think of the families that touched out lives at SBC all of the time. I hope that there will be another gathering sometime in the near future so I can attend with my family. The only person from PHS that I still keep up with is Erin Fahey I talk to her all the time and see her every couple of years, I would sure like to see everyone else. Now I am going to have to go to the storage unit and dig out my yearbook to try and match some faces because I sure don’t recognize a lot. Anyway, hope everyone is well, you can find info about me on the above website or on myspace.com/auntlarlar. Until I have the chance to meet you all again, may God continue to Bless you and your families.

    Hey
I think we are going to be in town the week of the 4th of July. The plan as it stands now is to rent a house on Bantam Lake that week and then have a party on the forth or the weekend on either side. If the plan is to have the picnic some where closer to town that is fine with us. If anyone has any ideas let me know. Also any boat owners if we can find one with a dock people could bring their boats for sking and what not. By the way Jarod Williams is getting hitched in May i believe it is the forth. Her name is Heather and they are livivng in the NOVA area. There is a party at his fathers house in April anyone who thinks they would like to be there email me at ddoolan@mcps.org. I hope everyone is doing well. On a sad note, Meredith lost her father last month. I am sure she would be glad to hear from some of you at this time.

Just ran into Don Taylor and he told me about this site. I figured that I’d throw my two cents in.
Moved from Southbury to Bethlehem after my junior year and graduated from Nonnewaug. Went to Southern and Western but was too preoccupied with playing music to take school seriously. I’ve sang and played bass in punk bands since 1988. Went on many U.S. tours and played everywhere from self-storage units to CBGBs. I’m playing in a band now with Rich Stremme (PHS Class of ‘89?) called The Deacons. I’m also a “singer/songwriter” and I play solo acoustic shows whenever I can.
Finally got married last year (after living together for 10 years!) to someone who loves music as much as I do. We bought a house right across the street from Mr. Calabro in Waterbury! I’m working for an automotive and industrial paint company doing outside sales, so I spend most of the day on the road.
Got my A.S. degree from Naugatuck Valley in Digital Design and I use most of what I learned there to create layouts for cds, websites, and records (yes…they still make them!) for my band and for other musicians.

It was good to see everyone at the 10 year reunion, but most of the people that I was tight with in school weren’t there (Aaron Flynn, Dave Deluca etc.) I didn’t find out about the 20th until after it happened, but if anyone wants to get in touch, feel free to email:
